Unlike the wrist-cutting emopunk stereotypes we all got used to, Forests seem to be a fun-loving bunch. Their full-length album, Sun Eat Moon Grave Party, released 2016, has its own share of heart-wrenching breaks and cutting lyrics, essential to the emopunk fare, a general throwback to the mid-2000’s. Given that, the trio has managed to keep the pace generally upbeat all throughout – even through the really heartbreaking parts. Sad, but uplifting. The album’s final cut though, Cup of Tea, makes for a promising campfire song, a personal favorite. Have a hear!
