Fresh from a recent solo presentation at Islands Peninsula, Vanessa Lim Shu Yi‘s most recent series, Water/1 One Under Water (The Ghosts In Our Scales), tackles the disjoint between diagrams and actual experiences, with man-made structures, like pools, as a point of departure for the aesthetics and context of  the exhibition. Vanessa and her body of work consistently hit the spot where concept and visual appeal naturally coalesce, instead of being at odds, through intentional choice of colours and materials.
